Welcome + Expectations!

Hi, delegates!


We are so excited to welcome you to BMUN 72 and the BVC committee.


In this committee, you will be learning the basics of business, collaborating with your fellow delegates, and eventually pitching your business to the dais. Our main topic addresses improving healthcare accessibility.


This blog will act as our committee’s more informal avenue for discussion and communication before the conference– and we’d love to see you interact with it! The purpose of this blog is to (1) allow you to actively engage with the content of this committee and (2) give you all the opportunity to learn about other countries’ policies before the debate actually starts. You can post comments on posts that we make and write about literally anything relevant to the topics at hand! For example, if you’ve found follow-up content or research you’d like to share, would like to discuss your country’s opinion on the topic, or have other ideas in mind, this blog is the place for that! Please write from the perspective of the country that you are representing.

Here, I will also touch on some important guidelines and expectations as you start your research:


Position Papers

We highly recommend taking advantage of the synopsis as the starting point in your research. It may be really long (sorry), but we promise that it’s a digestible read; plus, a good portion of it is images and citations.


BVC will use the standard, default position paper format with some slight adjustments for business pitch preparations. Position papers are due on February 18th to be considered for the Research Award, and February 25th to be considered for any committee award. Please reach out to us if you need more time, and we would be happy to grant an extension (no later than March 1st). 


Procedure Guide

BVC will be using standard BMUN/MUN procedure, with a heavier emphasis on un-mods and tech.

Procedure + Committee Flow

  Hi, Delegates! I wanted to check in with you to provide some more insight to how our committee is going to work at BMUN 72. BVC will be using standard BMUN procedure, with some tweaks to better suit our end goal. Our committee will begin by opening a running Speaker’s List/Elevator Pitches (standard speaking time is 1 minute, 30 seconds) and those speeches will be followed by 2 questions by other delegates. For your Speaker's List, you will be presenting an elevator pitch on your primary business idea that you outlined in your position paper. The Speaker’s List can also be interrupted by Moderated Caucuses and Informal Caucuses that give delegates the opportunity to exchange opinions on policy, solutions, and more specific aspects of the topics at hand. In our committee, our dais plans on leaving the flow of debate up to the delegates; however, we will also be emphasizing Informal/Unmoderated Caucuses so that the delegates can collaborate, make blocs, and research their respect

T-2 Days to Conference - Things to Keep in Mind!

 Hi Delegates, Conference is two days away! We have enjoyed reading your position papers and giving feedback so if you have not already, we highly encourage you to go over our feedback.
